Why habit data deserves careful treatment
A habit list can reveal health goals, personal routines, recovery plans, beliefs, relationships, and the hours when someone is usually at home. That information may look ordinary one item at a time, but together it can become a detailed picture of daily life.
A private habit tracker reduces unnecessary exposure by collecting less in the first place. Elegant Habits does not require a profile and does not operate a habit-history server. Your names, schedules, goals, notes, reminders, and check-ins remain on your iPhone.
What on-device storage changes
On-device storage removes the need to send every check-in across the internet. It also means the app opens directly into your routines without waiting for an account session or cloud dashboard.
There is a practical tradeoff: deleting the app or erasing the device can remove locally stored history. Elegant Habits therefore includes user-initiated CSV export on every plan, so you can create a separate copy before changing devices or removing the app.
Payments and reminders stay scoped
Optional Pro purchases are handled through Apple. The app receives the entitlement information needed to unlock and restore Pro, while Apple handles payment details. Habit reminders use iOS notification permission and are scheduled only when you enable them for a specific routine.
Privacy is not a promise that should be buried in a policy. It should be visible in the product architecture, the onboarding flow, and the controls you use every day.
