Who we are
Elegant Habits is provided by Elegantmind LLC. This policy covers the Elegant Habits apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch, plus eleganthabits.com. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to support@eleganthabits.com.
Habit data
Habit names, schedules, goals, reminders, completion records, program progress, and related history are written to local storage first. When iCloud is available, Apple’s CloudKit system mirrors that store to the private database in your iCloud account so your iPhone, iPad, and Mac can stay in sync. Elegant Habits does not require an Elegantmind account and does not send your habit history to an Elegantmind-operated habit-data server.
Apple Watch synchronization
The Apple Watch companion exchanges today’s habit list and check-ins directly with your paired iPhone using Apple’s WatchConnectivity system. The Watch keeps a local cached view so you can check in when the phone is temporarily unavailable; queued updates are delivered to the paired iPhone when connectivity returns.
Optional anonymous app analytics
Anonymous analytics are off by default. If you enable “Share anonymous usage analytics” in Settings, Elegant Habits uses TelemetryDeck to process limited Product Interaction, Device ID, and Purchase History data for analytics. This consists of fixed feature events, an anonymized app-install identifier, basic device and app information, and whether a monthly or yearly purchase or restore succeeded. It does not include your Apple account, transaction identifier, price paid, habit names, notes, targets, progress values, schedules, reminders, dates, or exported content. The data is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking or advertising.
You can disable analytics at any time in Settings. Disabling it stops future events. Anonymous analytics events are retained for no longer than 24 months and are then deleted. Because the events are not linked to your identity, Elegantmind cannot locate or return analytics records for a particular person. TelemetryDeck states that it does not store incoming IP addresses and hosts usage data in the European Union. You can read TelemetryDeck’s privacy policy.
Reminders and notifications
If you enable reminders, the app asks iOS for notification permission and schedules notifications on your device. Reminders are off unless you turn them on. You can change permission in iOS Settings.
Subscriptions
Optional Pro purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment information and maintains the purchase record under its own privacy policy. The app receives only the entitlement information needed to unlock Pro and restore purchases. If you opt in to anonymous analytics, the app may also report that a monthly or yearly purchase or restore succeeded, as described above.
Exporting and sharing
CSV export and full JSON backup are user initiated. These files leave the app only when you choose a destination through the Apple share or file picker. You control where exported and backup files are stored and who can access them.
Website information
This website runs no audience analytics, advertising cookies, or third-party trackers, and it sets no cookies of its own. Vercel hosts the website and may process limited technical information, such as IP address and request metadata, to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the service under Vercel’s privacy policy.
Service providers and disclosure
Elegantmind uses Apple for App Store purchases, private CloudKit synchronization, notifications, and device connectivity; TelemetryDeck for optional anonymous app analytics; and Vercel for website hosting. We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it to build advertising profiles. We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or our legal rights.
We require service providers that process information for Elegant Habits to protect it consistently with this policy and to provide the same or equivalent protection required by applicable privacy rules.
Retention and deletion
Your habit data remains in local storage and, when private iCloud sync is available, in your iCloud account. Editing or deleting a habit in the app updates the synced store. Removing the app from one device may not remove its private iCloud copy. You can delete habits inside Elegant Habits and manage the app’s stored data from your Apple iCloud storage settings. Paused and archived habits remain available until you restore or delete them.
Your choices and rights
You can leave analytics disabled, turn off notifications in system Settings, manage or delete private iCloud data through Apple’s controls, and delete local habit data in the app. You may contact us to ask a privacy question or exercise a right available in your location. Because Elegant Habits has no Elegantmind account and anonymous analytics are not linked to your identity, we may not have information that can be retrieved or associated with you.
Children
Elegant Habits is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy when the product or applicable requirements change. The latest version and effective date will remain available here.
